As one travels through this journey of life there are some major questions that arise because of our consciousness. The really big questions. The great unknowns.

Some people may never spend much time pondering these things, to others they are of supreme importance. For me they are all absorbing.

Questions such as Why is there something instead of nothing? - that's what is referred to as the first question of Philosophy from German Phlosopher Gottfried Liebniz. That question alone is enough to contemplate without any others. There should after all just be nothing.

However other questions are equally profound and unanswerable also. The dimensions of the universe expand entirely beyond comprehension
. The usual mind blower - Where does the Universe end? What's after that?

Where does life come from? Where do we come from? What is the purpose of life? I know from some personal experiences that there is much more going on even in this life than we can possibly know or understand.

Can anyone contemplate the sun for instance and not think what an engine it is? or any star. Science finds out many things about how things work and how things are, but it does not have the spiritual answers to some of the bigger questions.

Personally I absolutely do not believe in the theory that everything suddenly appeared by itself from nothing. Nothing created everything?

I don't believe that life came from inanimate matter either, I don't believe that for one second.

Christianity

What is Christianity? There's a very serious question in itself.

Jesus Christ is Lord.

Christ's real message and purpose, Christ consciousness and Christian theology is most important to me.

To find, hear, learn and understand better the true message of Christ - that people can be reconciled to God through the atoning work of Jesus Christ. To follow true Christianity as a way of life and living determines how one lives ones life.

I am a member of the Non Denominational Christian Church. It is a worldwide fellowship following the teachings of the New Testament and with Gospel workers in every country. In that fellowship I have yet to be asked for a single penny or even hear money mentioned, and I have yet to hear the opinion of a man or preacher used over that of the written word.

Let no man deceive you. It is best to realise immediately and fully that almost the entirety of what is presented on satellite television by televangelists has really nothing whatsoever to do with following Christianity. Some of it is embarrassing and disgraceful. People falling over from being lightly touched by a preacher for instance has nothing to do with true Christianity or the message of Christ. Nor is it biblical. Most televangelists are showmen and interested in financial matters.

There is no weightier matter in life than salvation, it is the most serious decision. On a gravestone in Scotland of a Christian preacher it says 'nothing matters but salvation' it is also the title of a hymn he wrote.
Christianity is the most important thing in my life, as is my family. I personally experienced what I now know to have been regeneration by the Holy Spirit from listening to the Gospel.

I hear the deep, profound message of the New Testament, I hear it within my being, my heart and my consience. I see the failings of human nature confirmed many times.

I also understand fully that the Gospel is considered indifferently by most people. It is foolishness to the natural man.

Luke 15:7 I say unto you, that likewise joy shall be in heaven over one sinner that repenteth, more than over ninety and nine just persons, which need no repentance.

Music is a great love for most people. I particularly like traditional and folk music, and some Classical music.

Some music means things to people because it had a special influence or meaning in a part of their life. They identify with the tune. Some of the following pieces mean things to me.

Music can be very spiritual and very deep and moving, penetrating into another level of being, reaching the soul. I have experienced some such moments through music. Who can understand what it is that affects us so, and how it reveals aspects of the deeper nature of existence?

At the bottom of the page there is a Kyokushin Karate logo, I have occasionally seen people (others) reach different levels of understanding and break into what is called 'Satori' - or automatic, fluent and perfect Karate. Here something that should initially seem to be so basic or simple a thing can become with the very experienced something of incredible breathtaking beauty and skill, something also reaching another and deeper level of practice or understanding. I learned from Karate that muscle memory or intuitive natural movements or reactions are able to be replaced with initially counter intuitive alternatives through the use of repetitive, precise and disciplined practice. One also realised that correct technique was more important than force. This understanding is useful in formal training in fly-casting techniques.

Just great music

The message of Christ can change people lives for the better, I truly know what this song means. I had my own experience of what I now know to have been regeneration. I now understand, as it was later explained to me, that the spirit teaches the intellect. It is not the other way round.

Don't leave the straight path to lie, cheat, scheme, plot, defraud or use short measure for anyone. Remain unencumbered by the weight.

After my daughter Megan was born I was driving home about two days later and put on the radio to immediately hear the last third of this tune. It suited my mood perfectly. My life was changed forever and for the better. A truly great blessing for us from God. She is now four.

Quotes

There is great wisdom in some quotes. Great wit in others. Quotes have a way of relating profound truths.

As an example of a quote, take this quote from Albert Einstein
Any power must be an enemy of mankind which enslaves the individual by terror and force, whether it arises under the Fascist or the Communist flag. All that is valuable in human society depends upon the opportunity for development accorded to the individual.
statement, England, September 15, 1933
